Current Construction & Traffic Updates

WB I-696 is OPEN and returned to the westbound lanes from I-75 to M-10 the Lodge.

WB I-696 is OPEN and returned to the westbound lanes from I-75 to M-10 the Lodge.  

The WB I-696 off ramp to Woodward Ave  as well as the on ramp from Campbell/Hilton to WB I-696 will remain CLOSED for an additional week to complete resurfacing at Woodward Ave and 10 Mile Road.

WB I-696 from I-75 to M-10 has been REOPENED on 10/11/26.  All associated entrance and exit ramps within this stretch of I-696 have been REOPENED as well with two exceptions.  The M-1/Woodward off-ramp from WB I-696 and the Campbell/Hilton on ramp to WB I-696 remain closed until the end of the week.  These two ramps remain closed to allow for the completion of resurfacing work at Woodward Ave and 10 Mile Road.

In 2027, EB/WB I-696 between I-75 and Dequindre will have construction and the freeway will remain open. Project information can be found at DrivingOakland.com. MDOT construction locations can be found at Michigan.gov/drive. PLEASE DRIVE SLOWLY AND SAFELY THROUGH WORK ZONES.

ANNOUNCEMENTS Greenfield Rd CLOSED over I-696 Advisory Greenfield Road is closing over I-696 in Southfield/Oak Park for approximately two months for bridge work. Reminder that the Greenfield exit/entrance ramps are already closed. The detour for NB/SB Greenfield is to go EB/WB on I-696 service drive and use the crossover/turnaround bridges for access to Greenfield.
