Eastbound and Westbound I-696 from I-275/I-96/M-5 to Lahser Road.  Work includes freeway pavement reconstruction, bridge repairs and replacement, drainage improvements, sign replacement, guardrail and other safety improvements.

This four-year project will be done in stages:

• 2022 – median and outside shoulder work on EB/WB I-696 and installation of temporary crossovers to be used for traffic shifts throughout the project
• 2023 – reconstruction of EB I-696 from I-275 to Lahser Road
• 2024 – reconstruction of WB I-696 from I-275 to Lahser Road
• 2025 – completion of I-696 median reconstruction at various locations between I-275 and Lahser Road
